A salicylic acid based cleanser is causing my skin to be dry and flaky. I need something quick, easy and preferably something someone has tried.
ThanksRemedy for an easy to make moisturizing facial mask?
a whipped up egg yolk left on the face for ten minutes is a natural moisture mask..
honey left on for twenty minutes is also very nice..
i've used both.. i especially like the honey.. but that's just because i don't always have access to eggs and keeping a bottle of honey is easier lol..
i hope this helps..Remedy for an easy to make moisturizing facial mask?
Some of the tips you can use.
* Take 1/2 cup of mustard and grind it in two litres of water. Make a paste of it with some rose petals. Apply it on the face and wash it off after half an hour.
* Take the yolk of 2 eggs and add some honey and three drops of almond oil. Make it as a mixture and apply on the face. Wash it off after 20 minutes
* Make a paste with a ripe papaya. Apply on the face and wash after 20 minutes.
* Take one cup of curd. Add the juice of two limes to it and make a mixture. Apply it on the face. After half an hour wash the face with cold water.
* Make a paste with one lime, 1/2 orange and a cup of curd. Apply this pack on the face and wash it after 20 minutes
* Make a paste with cucumber and coconut water. Apply on the face and wash after some time
Your skin peeling is not a result of dry skin, but rather a result of being sensitive to the Salicylic Acid, a common ingredient in all BHA (Beta-Hydroxy) products for fighting blackheads. If you use a follow-up toner and facial lotion that also contain Salicylic Acid and/or Benzoyl Peroxide, that's even more irritating to your skin. Here's my personal moisture-mask recipe:
Mix 1 Tablespoon of honey with 1 egg white. Spread on face and wait 10 minutes before rinsing off.
However, I recommend you switch to a gentle, milder cleanser, such as Neutrogena's One-Step Gentle Cleanser, available at Targets. For blackhead fighting, limit the acne treatment to the application of Benzoyl Peroxide (a lower % than the maximum 10%) to only once a day for a week or two. Judging how sensitive your skin reacts, you can always increase the applications or the percentage.
But make sure you check the ingredients before your next skincare-product purchase.
