Are facial piercings completely forbidden in the food industry?

it's all in the title. and thank you in advance. Are facial piercings completely forbidden in the food industry?
I would suggest that the answer will be yes if you are in food preparation. Usually only a plain wedding ring is allowed. This is obviously because the piercing ornament, earing etc may become detached and contaminate the food stuff. Are facial piercings completely forbidden in the food industry?
I think it depends on where you are going to work. I used to wait tables and there were a lot of people who had nose, tongue, and ear piercings. Now, I work in a bakery and deli preparing food and we aren't even allowed to wear our wedding bands- so facial piercings are definitely out of the question. You should check with the specific place where you want to work.
I am a former chef from Canada and I would say it is an individual thing, kitchen staff may not be the ones who do, and I worked in hotels with fine dining establishments, but the everyday IHOP, Denny's and T.G.I Friday's may not be a strict, I would not wear them to the interview, and would query them on dress policy, because going in with them after being hired, can get to fired just as fast.

I worked with a girl years ago who was a waitress in a private club she has a number of earrings but when she came in one Monday with both her eyebrows studded, a nose stud and 2, 1/2 '; pvc tubes in her ears they laid down the law, even hairstyles can be restricted in some places.
I think that you are allowed to have a small piercing in your nose, but anything else is a definite no.
