And is there a specific time to put on masks so they work better, like 11 am to 11 pm? I heard it somewhere but not sure if it's true. Why can't we keep facial mask on for longer than the given time?
When you go to a beauty salon for a facial your therapist will have done a thorough skin analysis and so can mix up your mask accordingly.Everybodies skin is different. When you buy a face mask from a shop the manufacturers have to make products to cover a wider range of skin types and they will provide you with a maximum time to leave the product on your skin - this is mainly to cover themselves if your skin has an adverse reaction to their product. Depending on your skin type you may be able to leave the mask on a little longer than recommended - but that's your decision. It depends what type of mask you're using but in my experience between 10 and 20 minutes is more than enough for the most oiliest of skins and between 5-10 minutes for very dry/sensitive skin.
The best time to apply a face mask is when you have thoroughly cleansed your skin of the day's make-up, grime and grease. It's best to do it after or while you're in the bath (as a replacement for steaming in the salon) as your pores will be open and the heat from the steam will cause your skin to sweat, taking with it oil and dirt from inside your pores. Why can't we keep facial mask on for longer than the given time?
You can keep it on as long as you want, but it won't do anything past the ';active'; time listed on the tube/bottle. Just as long as you cleanse/exfoliate first, it doesn't matter when you put it on.
i think you can keep it on as long as you want. but nothing else will happen to you if its on longer. besides why would you want to have iot on for a VERY long time
